The doctor told me to give up the crutches this week. How did I feel? Thrilled, joyful, happy and scared! After not touching my little foot on the earth for a month, what would it feel like?  Well, I can walk, but it is not sexy! It's barely even walking and I can't go far, BUT I can carry things as I lope around the house and that has made all the difference. Things now seem like a reasonable amount of work instead of way too much work to be worth it. I feel like I can see my life from here and if I reach out....with both feet grounded....using my dristi...I might me able to lengthen ..just far enough... Yes! I am so Grateful to be standing on my own 2 feet!

On my journey of the broked leg I have learned alot. I hope it continues.

  • I only have so much energy, I have to choose where to direct it. Seems often I am using few words and have a short attention span.
  • I have bigger tighter muscles in my shoulders from crutching around. Maybe this is what guys feel like.
  • I can do a whole lotta yoga, but no standing poses
  • I understand knee pain.
  • I have huge compassion for anyone with limited mobility
  • I see the need for abundant handicap parking spots.
  • I can teach yoga. YaY!

I know there's more.

What is your challenge? What can you learn from it? How can you grow as a person?

As Pastor Cindy told me, "God didn't want you to break you leg, but God can work good from all things."

I was just the recipient of a lifechanging gift, an unwanted gift, that I hope I will see the benefit of in the future. I am sure I will. I hope. Read more...
